As I stepped outside, I could not ignore the view of the sun’s rays as night broke into daylight (KwaZulu-Natal)
I am looking for something.
I am looking for something that only she can give.
I am looking for something that can help bandage my wounds, a little embrace to calm my yearning heart.
I am looking for something that will keep me warm in the darkness I find myself in.
I am looking for something: a bridge so I can walk to her, a boat to take me across the great divide to where she is. But the more I try to find it, the more I realise how hard it is to get to where she is.
I am looking for something.
Perhaps what I search for is not what I think I am looking for. Perhaps it is not her I should reach. Perhaps….well, perhaps it is he I should reach.
Yes, I could reach him, he is reachable. He has been here all this while.
His embrace is sure; he provides a warmth I can feel in this darkness. He gives something I was not looking for. Perhaps this ‘something’ he gives will quench my thirst and yearning for her. Perhaps it is he and her that should have been here all this while!
